Fat Media Creates Ground-breaking Cumbria School Book

One of the most innovative secondary school yearbooks ever produced in the UK has just been delivered by Fat Media.
The 2011/2012 Yearbook produced for Barrow’s Furness Academy features eye-catching design throughout, as well as using QR codes and Aurasma links to the school’s self-generated interactive image and video content.
The book was distributed to students, parents and community members before Christmas and has received widespread praise.
It showcases the activities and achievements of the Cumbria school which is currently looking forward to moving into brand new, state-of-the-art premises.

The publication was created by Fat Media senior designer, Darren Dedrie and copywriter/editor Glen Cooper, working closely with Furness Academy’s staff.

Siona Hartley, Yearbook project manager for Furness Academy, commented:

"We chose to go with Fat Media because they gave a professional and clear explanation of the services they could provide, with some quality examples. This reassured us as a school that we could work with them to produce a high-quality publication.
"At regular intervals, they communicated with me about what we wanted and sent examples of designs as often as they could. This allowed us both to monitor the progress and make design changes as necessary. Fat Media were flexible to work with and accommodated our wishes.
"The final product was indeed a high quality publication which has received endless praise and positive feedback from students, parents and community members. Comments have been made about the quality and variety of design as well as the innovative use of QR Codes and Aurasma symbols linking to interactive content."
