Fat Media Hosts Lancaster University Dragons’ Den Event
Entrepreneurial students ventured into the lair of the Fat Media dragons recently to showcase a range of innovative creations.
Members of our management team were asked to assess new business ideas from the Lancaster University students in a Dragon's Den style event hosted in our boardroom.
Ideas ranged from iPad leather holsters to a new science magazine. Students had to present their products to the panel who then gave them feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of their business proposals as well as advice on branding and marketing.
Fat Media MD, Mike Gibson, said the quality of products and presentations was much higher than he expected, a sentiment echoed by John French, Sales and Marketing Director, who wanted to buy the iPhone holder system showcased by NutKase there and then.
The event was organised by the Lancaster University Student Union which supports novel business ideas with seed money. Fat Media supported the event as part of our community commitment to support young people into employment.
Fat Media has a ‘grow your own talent' philosophy and we are proud to regularly employ graduate trainees and apprentices in digital marketing, programming and SEO.
