Help us fight cancer – the MO the merrier!
Fat Media colleagues have been MO-tivated to join a worldwide campaign to raise money to help cure and for more research into prostate and testicular cancer.
Many of our staff have been involved in some daring fundraising stunts in the past, involving walking over hot coals, parachuting and sliding zip-wires – but there won't be any close shaves this time!
Well, not for another month anyway.
Ten Fatties have signed up to the Movember campaign which will see them cultivating moustaches as big and bushy, sleek and stylish or wimpily whispy as they can muster for the next month.
Friends, family, clients and other colleagues are being encouraged to contribute to our fundraising efforts by logging on to the Fat Media movember page to donate.
Team captain, Paul Blakey, said: "This is a tache-tastic way of raising money that can help tackle the two primary male-specific cancers, affecting one in nine men in their lifetimes and from which about 10,000 men die in the UK every year.
"It's also about promoting health-awareness and educating people to look after their bodies – research reveals that about 39% of all cancers can be prevented through healthier living."
The Fat Media colleagues taking part in the challenge are: Paul Blakey, Dom Williams, Jake Cocker, Glen Cooper, Darren Dedrie, Tony Cheetham, Steve Allday, Will Roscoe, Mike Cook and Robin Zahler.
Go to the Fat Media team page on uk.movember.com and you can see regularly updated mo-gress photos of our hair-raising attempts.
And don't forget, if you do make a donation, tick the 'Gift Aid' box to make sure the full amount goes to the appeal!
