Lancashire and Blackpool Tourism Awards get Fat backing

Fat Media are proud to announce their third year of sponsorship of the 2011 Lancashire and Blackpool Tourism Awards.

The 2011 awards, which take place in The Paradise Room at the Pleasure Beach Resort in Blackpool on  22nd September, were established in 2004 and have run annually ever since. It’s the biggest date in the local tourism businesses calendar, as these awards are synonymous with status and prestige with the winners going on to represent Lancashire at the regional and national tourism awards. Most importantly the awards recognise the outstanding qualities and achievements of local companies and the contribution they make towards the £3 billion visitor economy in Lancashire.

Fat Media are sponsoring the “Tourism Event of the Year Award”, which they first presented to Blackpool Illuminations in 2009. The winning event is chosen by the general public.

Managing Director of Fat Media, Mike Gibson said “The awards ceremony is always a great event, littered with well-known local faces, tourism leaders and celebrity presenters. It’s great to be involved again with these prestigious awards that celebrate our local tourism businesses, who work hard all year round bringing visitors and huge income to Lancashire.”

The sponsorship supports Fat Media's strengths in the local tourism and leisure industry. Clients include Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board; previous winners Lancaster City Council’s Tourism team; South Lakeland Parks; Lavender Hotels; Blackpool Winter Gardens; Blackpool’s three piers; Lancaster Brewery and their new visitor centre; and the multi-award winning Sun Hotel and Bar in Lancaster.
